Belgium, most people would say there isn't much to say about Belgium. In terms of Brussels the capital they wouldn't be far wrong considering that its two main sites of interest are a big rusty, smelly, dirty metal representation of an atom and a small bonze fountain of a boy pissing.
Belgium has a reputation for being boring, I have been told this is unjustified as after spending several months there you will find good places to go out etc. I think this is probably more investment than a few good nights could justifiably warrant. There are some pleasant towns though such as Antwerp and Gent.
What the Belgians do on a world class level though is produce beer and chocolate. The beer in Belgium is probably the finest in the world, particularly the Abbey beers (if you were a monk sworn to silence and celibacy but allowed to drink you'd make sure you made the best damn beer in the world too). The chocolate has a well deserved international reputation, the prices however are not too friendly but the pralines are worth it.
This is the only picture I could find that I took in Belgium, not too exciting.
