Cambodia is a country that has suffered horrendously, particularly during the reign of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. During a short period about one third of the population were annihilated. There are museums and memorials to this although the problem is far from over.
The main draws for foreigners to Cambodia are the drugs, prostitutes and the Angkor complex. I skipped the first two, heading straight to Angkor, a fantastic complex of temples, the most famous being Angkor Wat (photos 3 & 4). There are several different styles of temple and some appear to be slowly being reclaimed by nature (photos 1 & 2). Many peoples favourite though is the Bayon temple which has faces on most surfaces, with literally hundreds of smiling faces pointing to the four cardinal directions.
In much of the developing world the children look after each other. With these sisters it's difficult to tell where they are separated.
