I spent only a few days in Canada, crossing over from the USA at the Niagara Falls (photo 1). I then made my way to Toronto, home of the CN tower (photo 2) the worlds tallest radio mast. From Toronto I went to Ottawa the capital, where Winterlude (Bal de Neige) was being celebrated. The canal was being used as an icerink and there were ice and snow sculptures (photos 4 & 5) all around the town centre, particularly in front of the parliament building (photo 3). Some of the sculptures had collapsed, the contestants claimed, "due to the unseasonable warmth". At minus twenty it is very far from warm and a crap excuse for the failings in their workmanship. From Ottawa I went to Montreal which was colder, before heading back to the USA.
