I did not spend a lot of time in Guyana, although I was there twice. The problem is that as there are so few tourists, the costs for going to some of the more exotic parts of the country are prohibitively expensive. Also as most of the country is covered in thick forest (Photo 1) it is difficult to get to some places without flying.

Georgetown the capital has some interesting wood buildings and St. Georges is apparently the largest wooden construction in the world (Photos 1 & 2). The City Hall (Photo 3) also has an interesting look to it, resembling to some extent a horror house.

En route to Springlands (on the border with Suriname) one can see lilies growing along the roadside.
