Malaysia is a pleasant country, but when I visited it I don't think I necessarily saw the best it had to offer. It is a bit of a police state and some of the signs are so blunt as to be amusing. I particularly liked the cartoon on this one (photo below) outside a military port. Next to it was a sign that said that anyone taking photos would be shot, I didn't have the time to get a picture of that one.
The Cameron highlands in the middle of peninsula Malaysia are where much of the tea comes from, the hills being covered in plantations (photo below). Due to the wet and warm climate there, most things can be grown.
Kuala Lumpur (muddy confluence) has an interesting skyline. It is home to the Petronas towers (photo 1), the tallest buildings in the world and the Pearl tower, the worlds fourth tallest radio mast. It is somewhere where the capital city in no way represents the reality of the country, but does represent how people want the country to be thought of. Modern and tall.
